Good neighbours

The University is committed to being a good neighbour, developing and maintaining an active engagement with the broader community around its campuses and in Australia as a whole.

Community engagement and outreach

Community and civic engagement is critical to the University’s continued vitality and relevance. We see universities of the 21st century as public institutions contributing to the cultural, social, economic and political life of the community as well as centres for research and learning. Our priorities include: participation in public debate; educational outreach; involvement in health, social and personal development programs; and participation in Australia’s cultural and sporting life.

Environmental Policy

The University of Sydney is committed to environmental best practice, and to the continual improvement of its environmental performance, recognising its obligations both locally and globally, to the present and succeeding generations. Please read our Environmental Policy.

Campus 2010

Campus 2010 is part of an $800 million, 20-year commitment to renew, rebuild and enhance the University of Sydney's campuses and provide pioneering teaching, learning and research facilities. One of the key goals of the Campus 2010 project is to reach out to the community, making the University a more inviting space to enter, and creating a hub of activity and facilities available to all.
